U.S. News Travel Names Fort Ticonderoga #2 “Best Things to Do in the Adirondacks”

U.S. News Travel recently named Fort Ticonderoga #2 in “Best Things to do in the Adirondacks”. Cited for its historical significance as the “key to the continent”, the report states that the interpretive costumed staff helps make “this splendid fort authentic.”

FortTiconderoga is listed just under the Saranac Lake area on the top five “Best Things To Do in the Adirondacks” list and was the only destination in the top five.  The others “Best Things to Do” include Tupper Lake, Mount Pisgah, and St. Regis Canoe areas.

The U.S. News Travel report highlights the Adirondacks as mainly for outdoorsy vacationers including opportunities for skiing and snowboarding in winter, and hiking and boating in the warmer months. But the report also highlights that the region holds a range of attractions for other niche travelers including history buffs.
