2018 On the Eve of the Revolution: 1775 British Garrison Living History Event

During this living history event, programming brought to life the routine of soldiers in the 26th Foot and their wives and families who made their homes inside the Fort Ticonderoga’s barracks. Weapons demonstrations went beyond loading and firing and explored military traditions that remained and tactical innovations that were standard on the eve of the Revolutionary War. Tours through the reconstructed Fort Ticonderoga of today highlighted the reasons why this fortification was so vulnerable to be captured by the Green Mountain Boys in the spring of 1775.
