2017 'Le Piquet' Winter Workshop Series
All workshops begin promptly at 9 am and go until 5 pm. 

French Accoutrements
March 11 & 12, 2017

Join Director of Interpretation, Stuart Lilie, to build your own French soldiers’ accoutrements. Learn basic leather sewing techniques and period stitches. Go stitch by stitch through the unique techniques of constructing the French soldiers’ sword belt, giberne or cartridge pouch, and its shoulder strap.

Cost: $260; $245 for Members

Workshop includes lunch, sewing materials, and cut-out kits for your waistbelt, cartridge pouch, and shoulder belt.

Regimental Coat or Habit
April 8 & 9, 2017

Join Curator of Collections, Matthew Keagle, and Head of Costume, Eliza West, to build your own French soldiers’ habit. Explore the latest evidence for the construction and fit of these full-length, full-skirted coats, iconic of the French soldier. 

Cost: $430; $415 for Members 

Workshop includes lunch, a cut-out kit for your coat, and sewing materials.
