Heritage, Harvest, and Horse Festival

This full day of autumn fun will be set in the midst of the King’s Garden heirloom apple trees and the beautiful landscape of the mountains and Lake Champlain.

Discover the historical importance of horses and other working animals during exciting demonstrations, meet friendly farm animals, stroll through Fort Ticonderoga’s farmers’ market featuring local food, beverages, and crafts, participate in family fun activities and tackle the six-acre Heroic Corn Maze. This fall favorite event, combined with daily Fort Ticonderoga programs including the Carillon boat cruise, makes for a great annual family tradition or weekend getaway.

Whether you’re looking to experience a horse-drawn wagon ride or indulge in homemade foods including jams, jellies, and pies or sample regional beer, wine, liquor, and mead, there’s something for everyone and all ages when it comes to our Fall Festival.

Children’s Activities
Kids of all ages will love the fall festival activities including face painting, sack races, colonial kids’ games, pumpkin painting, flower arranging, pony rides, and other hands-on activities.

Heritage Animals
Say hello to our friendly dynamic duo—Mick and Mack, watch the heavy hauling power of working oxen and follow the cry of the foxhunting Green Mountain Hounds. Also, see our free-range Heritage Breed Dominique chickens.

Carillon Boat Cruise at 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Enjoy gorgeous, sweeping views of Vermont’s Green Mountains and New York’s Adirondack Mountains during a 75-minute narrated boat tour aboard the Carillon. Let our friendly and experienced staff be your guide to Lake Champlain’s centuries of stirring maritime heritage with panoramic vistas around you and a sonar view of shipwrecks below. Heroic Corn Maze: A Corn Maze Adventure!
The day will not be complete without a visit to Fort Ticonderoga’s highly acclaimed Heroic Corn Maze: A Corn Maze Adventure where visitors explore the six-acre corn maze, with a new design for the 2019 season. Guests are able to find their way through the maze by selecting the correct answers to clues connected to Fort Ticonderoga’s history.
