Image Delivery Fees

Fort Ticonderoga (“The Museum”) charges fees for reproductions to support offsetting the costs associated with ongoing digitization of the collections, photography equipment, editing software, and staff time. The Museum has not determined copyright status for all objects and photographs in our collection and is not responsible for determining copyright status or securing copyright permission. The Museum is acting only as the owner of the physical original. Possession of a reproduction from Ticonderoga’s Collection itself does not constitute permission to use it.

This agreement is valid for the individual project listed below. Rights to reproduce are non-exclusive and are granted for one-time use only. Permission to reproduce must be obtained in advance for each subsequent edition or reprint. Photographic material and the permission to reproduce images may not be reused, transferred, sold, or otherwise disposed of without written permission.

The fees outlined below are per image. To request a reproduction of an image from The Museum, please fill out the Application for Photography Reproduction below:

Application

All reproduced images must include the credit line “Fort Ticonderoga Museum Collection or as otherwise provided by museum staff.

Educational/Scholarly/Student/Personal Uses – $0-25

Includes student projects (dissertations, theses, and school papers), academic presentations, and classroom materials. Also includes non-profit exhibition displays or publications. Personal uses include obtaining a high resolution image for research, reproduction for a non-public space (i.e. print for your home), or a personal blog or non-commercial website.

Publishers/Commercial – $25-200

Includes publications, magazine, journals, promotional materials, feature films, documentaries, and commercial presentations.

Service Time: While every effort is made to complete your request in a timely manner, most requests require two weeks to review and complete. Based on the information you provide, and the availability of existing photography, your request may be delayed beyond our standard service time.

Delivery: The Museum provides digital files and images to the user through Dropbox for quick delivery. Other arrangements are available upon request, but applicable fees may apply.

Photography Services for digitizing collections, including new scans of archival materials, are available at an hourly rate.
